Taylor Swift rumored buyer of $20M Tribeca penthouse
In her latest real estate purchase, singer said to have snagged director Peter Jackson’s pad
Country crooner Taylor Swift is reportedly the buyer of “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson’s Tribeca penthouse.
The rumor, reported by the Real Estalker blog, swirls as Swift has reportedly been scoping out New York City properties over the last couple of months. In January, the singer checked out a 2,900-square-foot townhouse at 22 Charlton Street in Soho and a 4,400-square-foot townhouse on Leroy Street once owned by West Side Story writer Arthur Laurents. Celebrity gossip site Entertainment Wise then reported Swift’s move into a Tribeca apartment next to the Olsen twins, and she has reportedly been spotted shopping in the area.
Jackson’s penthouse spread at 155 Franklin Street, which initially listed for $19.95 million, went into contract last month for an unspecified price to an unknown buyer. The 8,309-square-foot duplex loft boasts wrap-around terraces totaling nearly 6,000 square feet, 12-foot ceilings, exposed brick and wide-plank wood flooring.
If indeed Swift has picked up the pad, the property marks the latest in a string of real estate buys from Nashville to Beverly Hills to Rhode Island, where she grabbed a mansion last year for $17.75 million, as previously reported. [Real Estalker] — Julie Strickland
