“When people come over for the first time to my apartment, I think they’re shocked at how tiny my kitchen is,” Ray told the Wall Street Journal.

The couple bought the 1,800-square-foot apartment in 2004 for about $1.4 million, with the six-level spread’s quirky layout featuring about one room per floor.

Ray and Cusimano bought themselves some more room in 2008, however. They purchased their neighbor’s adjacent one-bedroom unit for $1.3 million and use the apartment as a guest suite for visitors.
