In this city, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get a second 1 Fifth Avenue co-op.

Brian De Palma, the director of “Carrie,” “Scarface” and “Dressed to Kill,” bought a second apartment at the 27-story Greenwich Village building, paying $1.8 million.

The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment was listed at $2 million. Ann Weintraub, who represented the sellers, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

De Palma owns another unit at the 239,000-square-foot building, on the 23rd floor. He’s lived there since at least 1989, according to property records.

Rolling Stones guitar player Keith Richards listed his own four-bedroom unit at the building last week, asking $12.2 million.
