After the praise — and laughs — Alec Baldwin received for his portrayal of President Trump on this past season of “Saturday Night Live,” it’s hard to imagine few other actors portraying the developer-turned-commander in chief.

But that’s exactly what The Real Deal did with our picks for which actors and actresses should star in the film adaption of Vicky Ward’s 2014 nonfiction bestseller “The Liar’s Ball.” Though early rumors suggested Gene Hackman would be best suited to play Harry Macklowe, TRD decided to take casting into our own hands. Our editors selected a star-studded roster to help unwrap the redevelopment of the iconic GM Building.

Little has been reported about production plans since A24 announced in 2015 that “Margin Call” director J.C. Chandor would direct. It appears Chandor’s next film is South America-set thriller “Triple Frontier.” Neither Ward nor an A24 spokesperson could be immediately reached.

For a look at TRD’s picks, check out the above slideshow.
