One of New Rochelle’s most unattractive properties, the Church-Division parking garage, could be destined for a date with a bulldozer if RXR Realty has its way. The developer has proposed replacing it with two 28-story towers featuring up to 700 apartments and as much as 40,000 square feet of retail space, Westchester Business Journal reported. An 80-room boutique hotel next to the garage is currently under construction at a cost of $14.5 million. Plans were in place to paint the garage before new $300 million development plans surfaced. Abraham Philips, chief development officer for the hotel said, “We are extremely pleased, to say the least.” [WBJ]
