Sean Ludwick pleaded guilty Tuesday to crashing his car in a drunk driving accident in the Hamptons in 2015 that killed his passenger, Douglas Elliman broker Paul Hansen. The plea deal will see the developer serve between three and nine years in prison.

“I’d just like to say I’m very sorry,” Ludwick said in a Central Islip court Tuesday, 27East reported. “I feel awful for the circumstances. I want to extend my deepest sympathies and remorse.”

Ludwick pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and aggravated DWI. The plea deal means he waived his right to appeal. The developer is also expected to face a civil lawsuit from Hansen’s family, the newspaper reported.

According to prosecutors, Hansen was killed in the late-night car crash in August 2015 in the Hamptons. Ludwick dragged his body out of the car, dumped it by the side of the road and threw Hansen’s personal belongings in the woods, prosecutors said.

Ludwick’s firm, BlackHouse Development, was at one point involved in several notable New York City developments, including Hudson Rise, a planned 47-story condo and hotel project in Hudson Yards, and the Soori High Line. [27East]Hiten Samtani
