Douglas Durst gives keynote at TRD’s Shanghai showcase

“My development company began [working with investors] in China in 1970, when the Chinese government was opening up relations with the US,” Durst said in his opening keynote.

The developer, who runs the Durst Organization, was in town to pitch Chinese nationals on investments in his projects through the EB-5 visa program, which he has employed on four previous developments.

The showcase runs through Saturday, with dozens of American and Chinese real estate investors and brokers speaking during two days of panel discussions about the U.S. real estate market. Greenland USA CEO Gang Hu, Christopher Wein of Great Gulf, and executives from Witkoff Group, HFZ Capital, and many other top developers are participating. – Will Parker
