Stamford has a new chief building official, the Fairfield County Business Journal reports. Bharat Gami, who was the chief plan examiner of the Manhattan Plan Examination for the New York City Department of Buildings, will fill the post that Robert DeMarco left when he retired last month, according to the outlet. Gami was part of the team that developed the DOB’s online portal DOB NOW. “Bharat’s extensive experience in both the public and private sectors will be beneficial to the building permit process and code compliance for all types of residences and commercial buildings in Stamford,” Mayor David Martin said. [FBJ]
