Rudin Management heiress Beth Rudin DeWoody is looking to unload her long-time Manhattan apartment.

DeWoody is the daughter of Lewis Rudin and former executive vice-president of Rudin Management. She has lived in the 5,000-square-foot abode at 10 Gracie Square since 1987. She’s seeking $12 million and Brown Harris Stevens’ Maria Serena Torresy and Cathy Angert are handling the listing, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Famous tenants of the pre-war co-op building include Gloria Vanderbilt and Madame Chiang Kai-shek. DeWoody has made a name for herself as an art collector and kept several works from her 10,000-piece contemporary collection in the apartment on various surfaces. She even renovated two closets into showcases she calls “cabinets of curiosities.”

DeWoody told the Journal she’s selling because she spends most of her time in Los Angeles, where her children live. But she’s not leaving New York for good; she intends to rent a unit in one of her family business’s residential properties in the city. She will also retain her Florida home in West Palm Beach.

Rudin Management owns 13.1 million square feet of New York real estate between 36 buildings, making the company one of the city’s largest property owners, according to a The Real Deal analysis. Earlier this week, the firm, now run by DeWoody’s brother, refinanced the debt on 345 Park Avenue in a $550 million deal. [WSJ] — Erin Hudson
