Former Gov. Bruce Rauner and his wife, Diana, sold their Winnetka mansion, but the couple still has more than a few places to crash.
The Rauners bought the land at 720 Rosewood Avenue in 1995 for $830,000 and then built the eight-bedroom, 6,900-square-foot Nantucket-style mansion on the property.
They listed it in April for just under $3 million, and sold it Friday for a little more than $2.7 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Jena Radnay of @properties had the listing. Public records do not yet identify the buyer.
Rauner, who made his fortune as a private equity executive, lost his re-election bid in November to Governor J.B. Pritzker after just one term.
He and his wife still own two Downtown condominiums in a building on Randolph Street near Millennium Park, including a penthouse they bought in 2008 for $4 million, according to Crain’s. They also reportedly own two Montana ranches, a Wyoming farm, a Utah condo, a New York penthouse and a beachfront Florida home. [Chicago Tribune] — John O’Brien
