The sale of a $3.9 million condo unit at the St. Regis Chicago leads this week’s list of most expensive home sales in Chicago. The ranking also includes mansions in Kenilworth and Bucktown.
1. 363 East Wacker Drive, Unit 6401 – $3.9 million
Property type: Condo
Another week, another top sale at the St. Regis Chicago. Unit 6401 at the 101-story hotel and condo tower sold for $3.9 million. The buyer is PRE Group, an entity controlled by lawyer Stephen D. Philips, records show. The property was first listed in January and it went into contract in July, according to a listing from Compass.
There are currently 49 listings for the property, the priciest of which is Unit 7101, which has an asking price of $18.5 million. The 10,000-square-foot unit has been in contract since January. Last month, Joel Carlins, the former CEO of Magellan Development, the firm that developed the St. Regis, paid $7.5 million for a unit in the building.
2. 1806 North Wood Street – $2.9 million
Property type: Single-family home
An 8,960-square-foot Bucktown mansion was sold for $2.85 million. The property, at 1806 North Wood Street, is a five-bedroom, six-bath home that has a swimming pool, gym and sauna. The seller is a trust controlled by Paula Klein Zeid, records show. The buyer is Little Nugget Capital Irrevocable Trust. The most expensive sale in the neighborhood this year is for 1622 North Wolcott Avenue, which went for $3.7 million last August.
3. 363 East Wacker Drive, Unit 3808 – $2.8 million
Property type: Condo
A 2,750-square foot unit at the St. Regis Chicago was sold for $2.8 million. The property, Unit 3808, is a three-bed, two-and-a half bath home that was first listed in August of 2017. It was taken off the market earlier this year and was re-listed for $3.2 million on Oct.13, according to a listing from Compass. It went into contract one day after. The buyer is Amit Gupta.
4. 221 Raleigh Road – $2.3 million
Property type: Single-family home
Software executive Christopher Bahr and his wife sold a Kenilworth mansion for $2.3 million. The 3,249-square foot home, at 221 Raleigh Road, is a six-bed, five-bath property that was first listed for $2.65 million last May. It was taken off the market last June and then re-listed for $2.54 million a month after. It went into contract in September after two price cuts. The buyer is Daphne Davis-Racker.
5. 3504 North Leavitt Street – $1.8 million
Property type: Single-family home
Maher Development sold a six-bed, five-bath home in the North Side of Chicago for $1.8 million. The property was first listed for $2 million on October 25 and went into contract the day after. The buyer is ADL2 Trust.
