After swapping television acting roles from playing a Chicago cop to a doctor on a new show, Jon Seda is ready to trade some local real estate.
Seda, who starred in NBC’s police drama “Chicago P.D.” for six seasons before landing the role of Dr. Sam Velez on the network’s sci-fi drama series “La Brea,” is selling his Lake View home on Chicago’s North Side, the Chicago Tribune reported. He’s asking $1.8 million for the property.
Seda and his wife, Lisa, want to unload their four-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot house at 1715 West Wolfram Street in West Lake View. The $1.79 million asking price is a little more than the $1.45 million the couple paid for the home in 2016.
Husband and wife real estate team Stefania and Frank Campo are the listing agents for the property, which had a 2021 tax bill of $30,097.
Elsewhere in Lake View, sellers are gunning for prices rarely seen in the neighborhood. In October, a seven-bedroom, six-bathroom home on Greenview Avenue hit the market seeking $5.7 million. If it fetches that price, it would be the first property in Lake View to sell for more than $4 million since October 2021, and more than double the $2.4 million the current owners paid for it in 2013 before redesigning the property.
Seda’s 2007-built greystone-style house has four-and-a-half bathrooms, three fireplaces and a two-story living room. The main level has a modern kitchen with a large counter island and all-new appliances, informal breakfast nook, formal dining space and a family room that opens to the backyard.
The second floor has two ensuite bedrooms, one of which has a private outdoor terrace. There’s also a laundry room and open office space with built-in bookshelves on this level.
The primary suite takes up the entire third level with a large walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom with heated floors, a steam shower, double vanities, a large free-standing whirlpool tub and skylight. The primary bedroom also has a fireplace and a private deck patio.
Seda also starred in the “Selena” biopic on late singer Selena Quintanilla in 1997, and got his start with NBC’s “Chicago” series first on “Chicago Fire” and then transitioned to “Chicago P.D.” until 2019.
