Development firms have been shaking up org charts in Chicagoland this spring.

But even with a sluggish real estate market, new hires are bringing big ambitions, and have kicked off several projects in recent weeks.

➤ Chicago-based student and senior housing-focused developer CA Ventures snagged Brian Brodeur from the local shop of Vancouver-based Onni Group, where he spent 10 years and rose to vice president of development for Illinois and Washington.

While with Onni, he advanced projects such as the 2,650-unit, five-tower residential development Halsted Pointe on Goose Island.

Brodeur is now serving as CA’s executive vice president of construction and development.

CA also promoted Adam Khdach to senior projects coordinator from the project coordinator role he had held for nearly two years.

➤ James Martell’s Logistics Property Company brought on a new hire to help recruit new talent.

The firm added Allie Leterman Sydel as vice president of talent acquisition in April, according to a social media post.

Previously, Leterman Sydel was senior talent manager for Lendlease in Chicago, which followed a stint in a similar position for IBM, her LinkedIn profile shows.

The firm is behind Chicago’s first two-story warehouse proposal, which is part of a more than $150 million development near Goose Island.
