The PAK Group, led by Amy DeRango and Kelly Baysinger, has packed up and left @properties Christie’s International Real Estate for Compass.

The Arlington Heights-based team has racked up sales of $38 million in the last year, with a total sales volume of over $100 million since 2021, according to a news release from Compass.

Co-principals DeRango and Baysinger are joined by the rest of their team: Samantha Lipnisky, Leanna Hill, Sarah Bonk and Sara Barber. DeRango and Baysinger made the move to Compass, in part, to expand the team further, according to the news release.

DeRango and Baysinger could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

A spokesperson with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate declined to comment on the team’s departure.

Compass and @properties have been engaged in a battle for talent since Compass moved into the Chicago market in 2017.

Last year, Compass rose through the ranks to take second on The Real Deal’s list of top brokerages with $4.68 billion in total sales volume and 7,800 deals for the year. That’s an increase from 2019, when Compass was the No. 6 brokerage in Chicago by sales volume. But @properties still took first by a long shot last year, with $7.55 billion in sales and over 12,800 deals.

Last year’s top residential broker, Jeff Lowe’s Lowe Group Chicago, was a Compass team, and four other Compass players made the list as well. Still, another eight of the top 20 residential brokers were with @properties, and the Chicago-based brokerage has maintained a larger presence in its home city.

The PAK Group is the latest team moving over to join Compass this month. The brokerage’s acquisition this month of the Capitanini Team, a significant North Shore player, marked the fourth Coldwell Banker Realty team to switch over to Compass in just a week.
