An Oak Brook mansion is hitting the market at almost $7 million, making it a record home listing in the western Chicago suburb where the reigning record sale was for $5.3 million in October.
The nearly 1-acre luxury home at 50 Baybrook Lane sits in the Ginger Creek community, next to the Butterfield Country Club. The three-story property spans 12,221 square feet, with five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, according to Zillow.
The current Oak Brook village record for the most expensive home sale ever dates back 23 years when Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas’ mansion sold for $7.95 million in 2003. Since then the village has seen few successful sales above the $5 million mark as the luxury home market remains unpredictable. Another luxury home listing in the vicinity that hit the market at $6.7 million in December is still unsold, according to Zillow.
Michael Oliverio, of Coldwell Banker Realty, representing the seller, declined to identify the client or provide comment at the time of publication.
The property was last sold in 2011 for $4.25 million to an entity called 50 Baybrook Lane LLC and was entrusted under the care of an individual named Serguei Antipov, per county records. It is not immediately clear why the property is back on the market after 15 years.
As of 2025, the property was assessed at $1.9 million and the seller paid a tax bill of $70,126 in March to DuPage County.
Oak Brook luxury sales in recent memory include a 10,000-square-foot Oak Brook mansion in the gated Hunter Trails community that sold for $5.3 million in October, making it the highest price achieved for a home sale in the western suburb of Chicago in 16 years. Other notable sales include an 11,000-square-foot mansion on Oak Court that raked in $4 million in December 2024, and a 12,000-square-foot property on Breakenridge Farm Road which sold for $4.8 million in 2023.
