Oak Brook Mansion Relisted for $10M Could Fetch Highest Price

A mansion in Oak Brook just relisted for just under $10 million, three years after it was listed for around $12 million.

The initial $12 million listing would’ve constituted an all-time record sale for a property in the village west of Chicago. If the mansion sells close to the new $10 million listing price, it’ll snag the record anyways, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The current record was set in 2003 by former White Sox player Frank Thomas, who sold his home for $7.9 million. Thomas was originally fishing for around $11 million for the 30,000-square-foot home.

The mansion at 404 Fox Trail Lane in the gated Hunter Trails neighborhood, was listed on Monday for $9,999,000 by owners Varsha and Mehul Shah on a private listing network. The price on the 15,820-square-foot home comes out to about $632 per square foot. Lauren Walz of Coldwell Banker Realty has the listing, according to an early access post on Redfin.

The property features seven bedrooms and 13.5 bathrooms, and was built in 2009. The home features brick and limestone exterior, a grand motor court and columns in the house’s entrance. Inside, the master bedroom has a private sitting room, and its lower levels feature a sauna, a steam room, a wine cellar, and a plunge pool. The circle driveway gives way to a five car garage.

The chase for the Oak Brook record has come up empty for more than two decades. Third place was taken in October 2025, by a mansion at 412 Fox Trail Court that went off the market quickly.

While any sale above $5 million is relatively rare in Oak Brook, there’s reason to believe that 404 Fox Trail Lane could set the record. Across the wider Chicago area, homes are flying off the market as buyers become impatient with a lack of inventory and are moving faster and spending more than in the past.
