Turns out the producer behind “American Hustler” is no stranger to a good real estate hustle.
Megan Ellison is said to have sold her mountaintop, 10,000-square-foot estate in the Mount Olympus neighborhood for $35.7 million in an off-market transaction, Variety reported.
The Richard Schwartz-designed home contains six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a motor court, sand volleyball court and grotto.
Ellison purchased the site for $20 million in late 2013 and then dropped another $10 million to buy the nearby lands, expanding the property to emcompass 8.25 acres.
The Oscar-nominated producer has been building her real estate portfolio for quite some time now.
She purchased a Beverly Hills estate in 2016 from cinematographer Janusz Kaminski for $15.5 million in December 2016, and spent another $6.8 million for a nearby property earlier this year. The producer has been trying to sell her second Mount Olympus home for nearly a year, and recently dropped the price from $5.9 million to $4.4 million.
She also owns two apartments in New York City’s Soho.
Ellison was the producer behind the successes of “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Joy,” and “Her.” The 31-year-old daughter of Oracle founder Larry Ellison owns her own production company called Annapurna Pictures, which has produced over 20 films since 2012 and is set to distribute its first film this year.
