Novelist Roger L. Simon seeks buyer for colorful estate

Marilyn Monroe once rented the property

Those searching for a celeb-pedigreed home can now turn to the Outpost Estates for their fix of Hollywood history.

Novelist and screenwriter Roger L. Simon listed his 3,620-square-foot home on Castilian Drive in Hollywood Hills West for sale at $3.25 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Mediterranean-style hillside home has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a spa, a landscaped courtyard, an office and a powder room. A swimming pool and terrace complete the three-story, multi-colored home.

Simon purchased the home in 1989 for $685,000 from actor Bronson Pinchot, property records show. Prior to Simon, Marilyn Monroe served as the home’s main resident when she rented the home in the 1950s.

Paul Czako of Gussman Czako Estates has the listing.

The novelist is known for his Moses Wine detective series, as well as two non-fiction books. Simon, who is the former chief executive of media company PJ Media and currently its CEO Emeritus, was nominated for a Best Screenplay Oscar for the 1989 film “Enemies: A Love Story.” [Variety]Natalie Hoberman
