James Franco makes hefty profit on Silver Lake duplex

The actor sold the property $400K over asking

One might say “This Is the End” for James Franco and Silver Lake.

The actor-director-screenwriter sold his Spanish-style duplex on Hidalgo Avenue for $1.35 million, roughly $401,000 above asking price and nearly double the amount he paid for it, the Los Angeles Times reported. It listed for sale just a few months ago asking $949,000.

Spanning nearly 1,500 square feet, the residence includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a “crow’s nest” on the top floor and several outdoor patios. Raised ceilings and exposed beams surround the interior of the property.

Franco purchased the home from “Mad Men” costume designer Janie Bryant in 2012 for $775,000, property records show.

Andrew Morrison of Redwood Real Estate Brokerage had the listing. Imraan Ali of Compass represented the buyer.

Franco has starred in films such as “Pineapple Express,” “Spiderman” and “This Is the End,” as well as HBO production “The Deuce.” He’s allegedly in talks with Fox Studios to star in the next Marvel Comics film, “Multiple Man.” [LAT]Natalie Hoberman
