Singer and writer Michael Feinstein has put his longtime mansion in the Los Feliz neighborhood on the market for $26 million.
The roughly 15,200-square-foot property on Glendower Avenue includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the Wall Street Journal reported. A movie theater, temperature-controlled wine cellar, guest house, gym and office are among some of the amenities found at the Tudor Revival-style mansion.
A swimming pool and citrus trees complete the outside.
Feinstein and his husband, Terrence Flannery, purchased the residence in 1998, property records show. Before that, it housed the Russian Consulate from 1935 to the early 1950s.
The couple threw extravagant parties at the estate, including one exclusively for singer Liza Minnelli. Other celebrity guests include Joan Collins, Gregory Peck, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.
Ernie Carswell of Douglas Elliman are sharing the listing with Dorothy Carter and Michael Orland of Keller Williams. New York-based Tom Postilio and Michael Conlon, also of Elliman, are also co-listing.
Feinstein is best known for his interpretation of and passion for the Great American Songbook. He lives in Carmel, Indiana, with his husband, where he leads the Center for the Performing Arts. [WSJ] — Natalie Hoberman
