Billionaire Ron Burkle is selling a Frank Lloyd Wright home designed to resemble a Mayan temple.

Burkle put the iconic Ennis House on the market for $23 million, a few days after spending $15 million on another Los Angeles property, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Located in Los Feliz, the 5,500-square-foot house was built from 27,000 concrete blocks, with some blocks featuring intricate geometric patterns. In addition to three bedrooms, the property includes a guest house, swimming pool and panoramic views of the city.

Branden and Rayni Williams of Hilton & Hyland have the listing.

Burkle purchased the home from the nonprofit Ennis House Foundation for $4.5 million in 2011, property records show. After purchasing, he then restored it, adding an extra $10 million to improve the home after it had suffered major damage from a previous earthquake and heavy rains.

Burkle is the co-founder and managing principal of the Yucaipa Companies, a private equity firm. He also owns a 15,000-square-foot property in Toluca Lake, as well as the Greenacres estate in Beverly Hills. [WSJ] – Natalie Hoberman
