Actor Michael Keaton is listing his sprawling Santa Barbara County ranch for $8.7 million.
Keaton’s 19-acre ranch in Summerland is an equestrian paradise with access to nearby riding trails, according to the Wall Street Journal. There is a 2,000-square-foot cottage on site with ocean views.
The actor purchased the ranch in 2016 for $5 million as a weekend getaway from his home in Pacific Palisades. He brought horses from his main residence, a ranch in Montana, to the Summerland property in the winters.
In the two years he owned the ranch, he obtained permits for another home on the property, did some landscaping, and built a new fence, according to the Journal.
Keaton rose to prominence in the late 1980s and had a strong career through the 1990s on the back of films that included “Beetlejuice” and Tim Burton’s “Batman” movies. Keaton’s most recent major appearance was as the lead role in “Birdman” in 2014, which earned him a nomination for an Academy Award. [WSJ] – Dennis Lynch
