A Silver Lake property that belonged to comedian Kristen Wiig sold for more than double the price of any other home in the neighborhood in the past three years.

The property sold for $5.23 million, $100,000 more than the asking price, according to real estate blog Yolanda’s Little Black Book. That price is much higher than typical sales in the neighborhood. It was the second-highest deal on record for Silver Lake, behind the $8.6-million sale in 2014 of architect John Lautner’s Silvertop estate next door.

Wiig’s hillside home sold to a trust controlled by Walt Disney’s grand-nephew, Tim Disney. The half-acre property was built in 1954 by architect Albert P. Martin.

Wiig purchased it in 2014 for $1.7 million and hired Taalman Architecture and The Archers to renovate the property. Living space now spans 2,500 square feet with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, an office, and a screening room in the main house. Wiig also added a pool and spa, and a 1,000-square-foot guesthouse and entertainment pavilion that has another bedroom and bathroom.

Disney currently lives in Los Feliz, in a 1930s Spanish estate that he bought for $6.4 million in 2016. He also paid $3.7 million for a seven-bedroom home near Hancock Park in 2013, but sold it for $4.5 million in 2017.

Wiig previously bought a home for almost $3 million in one of the most expensive areas in Pasadena one year ago. She was a Saturday Night Live cast member for six years, and she co-wrote and starred in the 2011 comedy “Bridesmaids.” [Yolanda] – Gregory Cornfield
