More than 18 months after opening and making headlines as the condo building with the priciest penthouses in the L.A. market, 8899 Beverly will go through a change in sales teams.
The contract for The Eklund Gomes Team, which has handled sales since the building’s debut in April 2022, is scheduled to run out the week of Sept. 25. The West Hollywood building’s sales efforts will be handled henceforth by The Agency, according to multiple sources and people familiar with the matter, but who were not given permission to speak to the press.
Calls requesting comment to spokespeople from The Agency, as well as Tyler Siegel of Townscape Partners, the building’s owner, were not answered. A salesperson at The Eklund Gomes Team at 8899 Beverly also declined to comment.
In July 2022, Townscape Partners made waves by announcing that two penthouses at 8899 Beverly could be packaged together for a $100 million deal, which would make 8899 Beverly the address of the priciest condos in the Los Angeles area.
In January 2023, about 40 percent of the building’s condos, which range from around $4 million and up, were purchased, according to media reports.
Amenities at the 38 residences in a 10- story main tower building include a 24-hour concierge, a building dog park, a 2,300- square-foot fitness center, a 36-foot outdoor pool, a hot tub and a lounge area. The Houses at 8899 Beverly — eight townhomes adjacent to the main tower — are scheduled to go on the market later this year. The condos and the townhouses were designed by firm Olson Kundig.
An Italian restaurant named Stella West Hollywood is scheduled to open in Winter 2023, according to a building representative.
