Top broker Tyrone McKillen is parting ways with Official, less than two years after establishing the brokerage in Los Angeles.

McKillen is making arrangements to leave the firm, and taking his eight-person Plus Real Estate Group team with him.

The firm acknowledged the planned departure, with Official co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Nicole Oge saying in a statement provided to The Real Deal, “We have a deep amount of respect for Tyrone and support him in his new venture.”

McKillen did not respond to requests for comment. Business Insider first reported news of McKillen’s exit.

The firm, founded by top brokers Oren and Tal Alexander in 2022 upon their departure from Douglas Elliman, has been rocked in recent weeks by allegations of rape and sexual assault against the brothers.

It’s unclear who is left in Los Angeles or what Official’s future plans are for the office. The firm declined to comment through a spokesperson on next steps for its presence in the region.

The move marks a blow to Official, which was still working on carving a path for itself in L.A.’s highly competitive luxury residential market dominated by heritage brokerages and boutiques alike on many of the top listings.

McKillen currently has 16 listings on the MLS, a combination of properties available for sale and lease that are active, under contract and pending that total $103.9 million in volume.

The former Compass agent joined Official as founding broker of its L.A. division in January 2023.

McKillen’s Plus Real Estate team is part of his Plus Development Group, which also provides residential and commercial development and design services.

The parting of ways comes after TRD first reported last month lawsuits accusing Official co-founder Oren and his twin brother Alon Alexander, a South Florida-based security executive, of rape in separate incidents in 2010 and 2012. Oren stepped down from the firm a few days following news of the allegations.

Tal stepped away from the firm a couple weeks later after similar allegations of rape and sexual assault were alleged against him in another lawsuit filed in New York.
