Will Kanye West, who gutted a Tadao Ando-designed home in Malibu, trash the 20,000-square-foot estate he just bought in Beverly Park for $35 million?
The rapper and fashion designer who now goes by Ye bought the estate once owned by late Saudi billionaire Saleh Abdullah Kamel at 72 Beverly Park, according to the Robb Report and TMZ. The seller was undisclosed.
The off-market deal comes three months after West sold his stripped down, 4,000-square-foot concrete house designed by Ando at 24844 Malibu Road for $21 million, 63 percent less than he paid for it.
The buyer of the Brutalist beachfront home, Steven “Bo” Belmont, is restoring it to its former glory.
Now West has paid $10.5 million more for a mansion in the exclusive gated community popular with celebrities than the $24.5 million the previous owner paid in early 2022.
Broker Gigi Gharai of Coldwell Banker Real Estate represented the unidentified seller, while broker Jacob Greene of Douglas Elliman represented West in the deal.
The 11-bedroom, 18-bath mansion, designed by celebrity architect Richard Landry, was built on 7 acres for Norman Zada, the founder of adult magazine Perfect 10.
It was once owned by the late Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, a Saudi banker who rose to become one of the Arab world’s wealthiest men.
The white contemporary mansion, hidden behind gates, is fronted by two separate motor courts with room for dozens of cars.
The two-story house has living areas drenched with light, a gourmet kitchen with granite counters and a breakfast nook.
Outside, there’s a tennis court, lap pool, a separate plunge pool and a 6,100-square-foot guest house and an entertainment pavilion connected to the main house by a steel-columned bridge.
The HOA fee is $3,300 per month.
West still maintains another L.A. property in Calabasas, where he operated his now-shuttered Donda Academy, according to Robb.
