A Spanish-style, 1920s residence closed for $35 million in the final month of 2024 to come in as one of Beverly Hills’ priciest home sales.
The seven-bed, 12-bath property at 619 North Arden Drive was sold by a trust tied to David Zander, according to property and state records. The buyer is a Delaware-registered LLC with a Park Avenue office address in New York, according to property and state records.
Carolwood Estates’ Drew Fenton had the listing, while The Beverly Hills Estates’ Branden and Rayni Williams represented the buyer.
Carolwood declined to comment on the transaction. The Williamses also declined to comment on the deal.
The purchase price is above what the home’s previous owner, prior to David Zander, attempted to sell it for in 2021. That was when Todd Phillips, the director of movies such as “The Joker” and “The Hangover,” listed Arden Drive for $34.5 million. Phillips sold the property to Zander for $30.7 million later in 2021.
The property includes a guest house, greenhouse, pool and spa, according to Zillow.
Arden Drive closed 2024 as Beverly Hills’ second-most expensive on-market home sale for the year, based on records from Zillow. That’s after the $37.1 million trade of 1006 North Roxbury Drive in June. The more than 20,000-square-foot home was listed by Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California’s Kirby Gillon and Bryce Lowe. Carolwood’s Fenton represented the buyer.
Later in December, Sue Gross, the ex-wife of PIMCO co-founder Bill Gross, nabbed the final major sale of the year in Beverly Hills when 984 North Alpine Drive sold for $33 million. The purchase price made it the third-priciest deal in the city. That, too, involved Carolwood’s Fenton as the listing agent, while The Agency’s Nicholas Sandler represented the buyer.
