Asian grocery chain T&T Supermarket is expanding its Southern California dreams with a new store in Chino Hills — which will be one of four such stores to open next year.
The Toronto-based company plans to move into 61,000 square feet at the Crossroads Marketplace Chino Hills, located at 13017-13021 Peyton Drive, Bisnow reported. The store, set to open next fall, would occupy spaces once held by a Best Buy and a Bed Bath & Beyond and would be the largest T&T in California.
You can get a head start on shopping now, though. Though no California stores have opened yet, Golden State residents can begin shopping for dried goods including snacks and Asian beauty products using the T&T app and its website. You can also work on racking up points for free shopping and access exclusive online discounts by signing up for the T&T Rewards Program.
“We’re so excited to continue our expansion in California,” T&T Supermarket CEO Tina Lee said in a statement. “Chino Hills is a wonderful community to live [in], and we can’t wait to add to the local food scene.”
T&T’s Chino Hills outpost will be joined by three other locations in the state. In Southern California, Irvine’s Great Park neighborhood will get a T&T next fall, as will San Jose and San Francisco in the Bay Area at that time.
The move comes on the heels of Trader Joe’s announcement last month that it plans to open 21 new stores across 13 states and Washington, D.C. this year. Grocery Dive reported that TJ’s — along with fellow low-cost alternative Aldi — has become the primary grocery store for a growing number of Americans year over year. Like those chains, T&T has a house brand, which has products including soup dumplings and green onion pancakes.
T&T opened its first U.S. store in Bellevue, Washington, in December 2024. The chain’s sixth planned U.S. store has been announced for Lynnwood, Washington, north of Seattle, which will open later this year. T&T currently operates nearly 40 stores across Canada.
