The founder of Douglas Emmett Realty Advisors has placed his Brentwood home on the market for $58.5 million, making it the Los Angeles neighborhood’s most expensive current listing.
The home last sold in December 2020 for $20 million to a limited liability company called Green & White Investments and helmed by Kenneth Panzer, according to property and state records.
Panzer started Douglas Emmett Realty in 1991, which now operates as Douglas Emmett. Panzer currently serves as COO and also has a board seat at the real estate investment trust, which had a recent market cap of $3.2 billion.
Compass’ Liz Jones and Fran Flanagan hold the listing.
The agents and brokerage declined to comment on the home.
The sprawling property sits in the ultra-exclusive Brentwood Country Estates, a guard-gated community so private that it consists of only 13 homes with around-the-clock security.
Set off on an expansive, over 5-acre lot, the home totals 9,960 square feet and counts six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Inside is a chef’s kitchen, a primary suite with mountain views, office with floor-to-ceiling windows and gym already filled with equipment, according to the listing. A smart system allows for control of lighting, music, security and temperature.
There are also plenty of entertainment options available outdoors, with a pool, spa, putting green and tennis court.
The estate’s entry into the marketplace knocks 11740 Crescenda Street, which is asking $54.9 million, from the top spot for priciest Brentwood home on the market. The eight-bed, 14-bath home totaling 20,000 square feet is listed by Carolwood Estates’ Drew Fenton and Andrew Beyer.
Named Mallorcan Villa, the Crescenda Street mansion sits on an over 3-acre lot. Highlights include a living room with 20-foot coffered ceilings, library, 1,200-bottle wine cellar, game room, infinity pool, tennis court and gardens.
