Financier and Milwaukee Brewers minority owner Robert Beyer and his wife may have notched the largest sale in Brentwood in years when they offloaded their estate in September for $44 million. But another home trounced it on a per-square-foot basis.
A trust affiliated with Matt Cwiertnia, partner at Ares Management, acquired actress Betty White’s old house at 506 North Carmelina Avenue in an off-market deal for roughly $30.9 million on Feb. 11, or $10,203 per square foot. The home was not a personal purchase for Cwiertnia.
Beyer’s home, at 11740 Crescenda Street, sold for $2,200 per square foot.

The seller of 506 North Carmelina Avenue, which clocks in at 3,029 square feet, was an entity linked to Soheil Moeini, president of Greystone Engineering Group.
Buyer and seller agent information wasn’t immediately available.
Located in Brentwood Park, 506 North Carmelina Avenue is gated and set back from the street on over three quarters of an acre with parklike grounds.
The “Golden Girls” star lived in the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home for more than 50 years and died there on New Year’s Eve in 2021 just shy of her 100th birthday. The 1952-built house was marketed as a tear-down and sold in June 2022 for $10.7 million, per property records. No photos of the interior of the home were made available, and potential buyers weren’t allowed access to the inside. It was the first time the home was available since White and her late husband, Allen Ludden, bought the property in 1968.
“The house was sold with multiple offers over the asking price for land value to a developer,” said Sotheby’s International Realty’s Marlene Okulick, who listed the home on behalf of White’s estate. “The property was very special, private, with views of the Getty Museum.”
At $44 million, 11740 Crescenda Street was Brentwood’s most expensive home sale since 13058 Rivers Road went for $56.6 million in December 2021.
