The phrase “your little piece of paradise” really applies to a cabin in Laguna Beach with an $18.8 million price tag.
The upscale tiny home at 1041 Marina Drive has only 432 square feet, KTLA reported. Its Zillow listing shows one bath but zero bedrooms.
The price works out to $43,519 per square foot. By comparison, in 2022 a spec home at 66 Emerald Bay in Laguna Beach sold for $43.5 million, setting a per-square-foot record in the market at merely $8,733. Luxury homes in the city often sell in the $20 million range.
In the listing, Plus Real Estate calls the Laguna Beach home an opportunity for “breathtaking oceanfront living.” The lot, which totals 8,499 square feet or about 0.2 acres, with “a gentle slope and desirable southeast orientation,” provides “panoramic views of the coastline reminiscent of the French Riviera.”
Based on the listing’s photos, the house consists of a living room with a wall of windows facing the Pacific Ocean, plus a bathroom behind. A narrow lawn, flanked by mansions on both sides, ends with a private staircase down to the beach at Shaw’s Cove.
“The only property of its kind, this is a rare opportunity to build on one of Laguna’s most coveted streets,” Plus Real Estate says in the listing, a reference to its teardown potential.
As for comps, KTLA provides four with similar price points and varying footprints. First, 610 North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills offers eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms on 8,685 square feet. Next, 1232 Corsica Drive in Pacific Palisades has stately white digs with five beds and eight baths over 10,260 square feet.
In the San Fernando Valley, 3350 Stone Ridge Road in Sherman Oaks comes with six bedrooms and seven baths on 11,618 square feet. And the largest comp, with 13,802 square feet, is 5373 Jed Smith Road in the Hidden Hills.
KTLA also cites another Laguna Beach property priced at more than $18 million. But this one, at 2665 Victoria Drive, provides five bedrooms and six bathrooms over 5,342 square feet.
