Angelina Jolie lists Los Feliz estate with deep Hollywood history for $30M

Oscar winner paid $25M after Brad Pitt split less than a decade ago

Angelina Jolie is putting a storied piece of Hollywood real estate on the market as she prepares for a life beyond Los Angeles.

The Oscar winner listed her Los Feliz estate at 2000 De Mille Drive for $29.9 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Jolie acquired the property in 2017 for $24.5 million in the wake of her split from Brad Pitt

The six-bedroom compound was once owned by pioneering filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. “The Ten Commandments” director purchased the property for under $28,000 in 1916 — less than $890,000 adjusted for inflation — and lived there until his death in 1959.

The sale aligns with Jolie’s long-telegraphed plans to leave the U.S. once her youngest children turn 18, a milestone expected later this year. The Los Angeles native told the Hollywood Reporter in 2024 that her divorce required to remain in California until then, with Cambodia among the destinations she expects to land.

The home was built in 1913 and is set on 2.1 acres in Los Feliz’s gated Laughlin Park enclave.

DeMille expanded the estate, incorporating a neighboring home once owned by Charlie Chaplin and linking the two structures together via a glass corridor. Amenities include a guest house, pool house, tea house and fitness studio, along with trees and rose gardens and city views stretching from Griffith Observatory to the Pacific Ocean.

Jolie moved into the 11,000-square-foot manse after a six-year renovation by the prior owner. Before that, the estate traded for $1.5 million in 1990. As the actress ponders her next move, the fate of her other U.S. properties, including a New York apartment used by her children, remains unknown.

The Eastside market, which also includes Silver Lake, is mixed, with some luxury and ultra-luxury homes sitting on the market, although a Carolwood Estates team sold homes for $13.5 million and $8.5 million in February. Actress Lily Rabe and her husband, Hamish Linklater, relisted their Los Feliz home for $2.9 million in recent months.
