A historic mansion in Pasadena is ready for its close-up, hitting the market for 56 percent more than its 2025 sale price.
The Tudor-revival home at 380 South San Rafael Avenue is for sale for $32 million, Mansion Global reported. The 1928-built home last traded a year ago for $20.5 million.
The property has more than a half-century of Hollywood history. In the 1960s, the home was known as Bruce Wayne’s Wayne Manor in the “Batman” TV series starring Adam West. It went on to appear in other films and TV series like “Rush Hour,” “The Campaign” and “Murder, She Wrote.” In 2011, the brick mansion appeared in the comedy movie “Bridesmaids” as the home of Rose Byrne’s character.
When the home last sold in an off-market deal last July, the $20.5 million price tag marked the highest figure ever paid for a home in Pasadena. The latest listing marks the first time the mansion has been available on the open market since the 1990s. If it sells for anywhere near its list price, it would blow its previous record out of the water, though it might have some competition from another home that hit the market this month with a Hollywood pedigree of its own. The Arden Villa, which served as the backdrop for a famous fight on “Dynasty” in the 1980s, is currently owned by director Anthony Russo who is looking for a buyer.
Since the seller moved in last summer, the 18,655-square-foot home has undergone a wide-reaching modernization effort, including a new sewer line, plumbing, HVAC system and landscaping. The seven-bedroom residence was built for $140,000 in 1928 — a stark figure considering the average home in the United States cost $4,000 at the time, Christie’s listing agent Peter Owens told Mansion Global. The property also has amenities including a theater, pickleball court and pool.
The listing lands as Pasadena’s housing market sees a dip in prices. The median sale price for a single-family home in Pasadena was nearly $1.6 million for the three-month period ending in April, representing a 2.6 percent drop year over year, according to Redfin data cited by the Wall Street Journal.
