CB Richard Ellis has become the first commercial real estate company to hit the small screen in a big way, launching a national advertising campaign with significant television time.

The ads, created by Della Femina Rothschild Jeary and Partners, blanket television outlets, including CNBC; they will also appear online and in more traditional mediums such as the Wall Street Journal and Forbes magazine.

The campaign, which debuted April 18, is not the first or last – instance of brokerages and well-known real estate personalities hitting the national airwaves. Barbara Corcoran has maintained her celebrity status by becoming a real estate expert for the Fox News Channel. She has also appeared on “Good Morning America,” the “Today” show and the “View” advising people how to buy and sell.

Sources also report that Corcoran hopes to host a weekly real estate show on national television by September. Fox News Channel’s move to increase its real estate coverage might have to do with its cable news competitor.

CNN last year started airing “Open House,” which appears on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. Anchor Gerri Willis tackles the real estate industry with a “how-to” approach covering topics such as creative financing, commissions, and home improvement.
