The $26.6 million, 83-unit low-income housing development has secured construction financing and is slated for completion by 2012. The eight-story elevator building is being developed by the city Department of Housing Preservation and Development, together with the city Housing Development Corporation, MacQuesten Development and the Union Grove Baptist Church. Financing will be acquired from several city organizations. Seven studios, 29 one-bedrooms, 40 two-bedrooms and seven three-bedrooms will be offered and will be affordable to families of four earning less than $46,080 annually. Approximately 20 percent of the units will be set aside for formerly homeless residents; seven will be reserved for people with impaired mobility, hearing and vision.
