Miami city commissioners approved the new $525 million Florida Marlins baseball stadium in a 4-1 vote this afternoon, although concerns remain about the allotment of costs and profits. Under the proposed plan, Miami-Dade County would pay $382 million while the Marlins would pay $120 million and $35 million in rent payments. The city of Miami would contribute $10 million for demolition of the Orange Bowl, where the new stadium will be located, and $94 million for a parking garage. The plan currently awaits a vote by county commissioners this afternoon.
