Boca Raton Housing Authority calm following near-riot

March 13, 2008 11:01AM

After hundreds more than expected waited for hours at the Boca Raton Housing Authority on Wednesday to receive applications for subsidized housing – resulting in a near-riot – 400 applicants peacefully turned their applications in to the agency today. The housing authority is now holding a lottery to choose the 200 families that will receive subsidies; a revision to its original plan of awarding the families of the first 200 applicants.
