Storm claims keep climbing

The top five insurers in Florida report that more claims are being filed in the wake of Tropical Storm Fay, which soaked the state with flood level rains last week. To date, there are 13,795 total homeowner policy claims. Insurer Allstate Floridian reported its claims for the first time Wednesday, saying it has 1,061 homeowner claims. Claims for other insurers include 2,730 at Citizens Property Insurance, 6,680 homeowner claims at State Farm Florida, 1,358 at Universal Property & Casualty and 1,966 at USAA.
