Once easily disregarded, the latest spate of TRIM (Truth In Millage) for Palm Beach County residents and commercial landlords, which explain how property taxes are calculated, will have important information. Since property values have declined so widely, lower assessments should lead to lower taxes, but officials are braced for a wave of challenges. The deadline to file a petition is Sept. 15.
