Foreclosures decline in Miami

Miami-Dade County showed an improvement in foreclosures in August, with a 10 percent decrease in scheduled auctions from the previous month, according to a report published by Propertyshark.com.

There were 994 homes foreclosed on last month, which still represents a 72 percent increase from 579 in August 2007.

The zip code with the greatest number of foreclosures in August was 33177, which had 49 homes auctioned. This area includes parts of Miami, Perrine, Quail Heights and Country Lakes.
