A redevelopment project that covers two square blocks in downtown
Delray Beach can include buildings up to 60 feet high, city
commissioners decided last night, despite opposition from some nearby
homeowners. The vote allows CDS International Holdings, a private
equity firm, to construct three five-story buildings in Atlantic Plaza. Before last night’s ruling,
these buildings could have been a maximum of 48 feet. CDS officials
said construction on the project would likely begin in two years and
the project would take another three to five years to complete.
