The Carrie Meek Foundation, which promotes education, affordable
housing, economic development and other causes, is embarking on a
nine-year development project on 121 acres of land at Opa-locka
Executive Airport. Executive Director Anthony Williams said the group
hopes to start an aviation repair business or other aircraft-related project at one of two parcels the foundation has leased from Miami-Dade
County, and would consider an industrial or office project for the
other parcel of land. Local or national companies interested in
partnering to develop the parcels can express interest through today.
