As the world’s real estate market has deflated in recent months,
Florida has become more popular with British second-home buyers,
according to executives at London-based Mayfair International Realty.
British buyers had previously flocked to Spain for second homes, but
housing scams there have increased, and buyers are more confident that
their purchases will be protected in the U.S. Sarasota, Fla., has
become a particularly well-known destination in Britain because of its
beaches and art scene.
