Attendees at the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association investors conference face a new world, after 18 tumultuous months. Speakers and panelists
from banks and financial institutions discussed buying, selling and
lending and agreed that 2009 will be another rough year for the
market. Panelists agreed that government intervention is now necessary and could spark confidence and action within the commercial investment community.
But in an environment in which government intervention occurs, investments may also take longer to appreciate.
