The Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, where the new Florida Marlins stadium will be located, will definitely benefit from the construction of the stadium and the planned retail space nearby, local experts said. But members of the city’s commercial real estate community offered mixed views on whether the stadium would inspire a commercial development boom and make Little Havana a more popular neighborhood. Some say projects like the stadium traditionally drive commercial real estate development and turn areas into “destination” spots. Others say the stadium will be the only significant attraction in the area, and development is unlikely to follow.
