Even if condominium associations demand copies of your unit’s keys, there is no state law requiring the practice, said Daniel Vasquez. Jan Bergemann, president of Cyber Citizens for Justice, a statewide group that represents condo and home owners, said owners must only ensure that the association has access in an emergency. Condo associations do not have the right to simply inspect your unit, he said. Laws are now under debate that may change these rules.
