Water park considered for beach spot

The Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex and the International Swimming Hall of Fame may be developed into a giant water park and aquarium to increase the appeal to visitors. A slate of new city commissioners are enthusiastic about the long-pondered project and the city is looking at how to turn plans into reality. The city loses about $1 million a year on the swim complex.
