Foreclosure filings in the U.S. hit a record high again — for the third time in five months — in July, with 360,149 properties receiving default or auction notices or being seized, according to data from RealtyTrac. One in 355 homes received a foreclosure filing, the highest monthly rate since RealtyTrac began recording data in January 2005. Almost 25 percent of mortgage holders are underwater on their loans, real estate data company Zillow.com announced earlier this week. Foreclosure filing rates were highest in Nevada and California.
