Landlords and sellers are finding that it doesn’t take much to increase a property’s appeal, which is welcome news in a market where everyone needs an edge. Only after spending $1,100 on a patio was Randy Bianchi, a West Palm Beach real estate agent, able to find a tenant for one of his rental listings. Bianchi suggests that the best way to attract offers on a home without undergoing expensive renovations is to clean up. Everything, from the windows to the carpet, should be immaculate, he said. Don Cameron, a contractor and owner of HomeVestors, says clutter also needs to be cleared out, and recommends plug-in deodorizers, a welcome mat, and cosmetic touch-ups to kitchens and bathrooms to homeowners looking to sell.
