Florida Realtors coordinates statewide open house weekend

More than 50,000 homes will be a part of a statewide open house weekend
April 10 and 11, put together by Florida Realtors, the 115,000-member
organization of realtors, the largest trade association in Florida.
Each participating house will have a blue balloon featuring the group’s
“Realtor” logo. The initiative comes in part to spur sales in advance
of the expiration of the federal home tax credit — first-time buyers
must sign purchase contracts by April 30 and close by June 30, or they
will lose the tax credit, which can go as high as $8,000. The credit
for buyers who are purchasing a second home is $6,500. TRD
